Cheap Exotic Cars - Replicas and Kit Cars
July 10th, 2008 . by getfrogExotic Car / Classic Car Replicas and Kit Cars are sometimes a touchy subject. I get so many people asking me about replicas and kit cars it’s almost overwhelming. But I also get about 1 out of 1,000 haters that don’t like Kit Cars or Replicas. Well, not everyone has to like or buy them, so with that in mind, there are PLENTY of REAL Affordable Exotic Cars that can be found around $30,000 and below and that’s what the majority of this website covers. HOWEVER, there are millions, yes, literally Millions of people that are interested in kit cars and replicas. So, due to all the responses and questions, I wanted to cover these cars a bit. With this in mind, if you are one of those people that despise replicas and kit cars for some reason, calm down and read the following, to learn a little about these cars.
First off, Replicas and Kit Cars vary anywhere from $150,000.00 down to $10,000.00. The basic price for a good, quality kit car or replica is about $30,000. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a jewel for around $15,000 but like most things in life, the more you spend, the better the product will be.
A lot of the kit cars and replicas, are cars most of the younger crowd has never even heard of because they are more considered “Classics” and not very common. In reality, at car shows, most people have no idea how many kit cars and replicas are there because they just assume the older cars are just a “Classic” car of some sort. Those old 1920’s and 1930’s “Hot Rod” Roadsters, T-Buckets and 3 Window Coupes are usually kit cars and replicas but many people don’t realize that. Allow me to mention one of the main reasons, kit cars are so popular. The 1969 Shelby Cobra. Try and find a real one on the market and if you do, come up with about half a million to start the bidding. So for those of you that think you saw a Shelby Cobra going down the road last weekend, well, you saw a replica. Most poeople will probably never see a real Shelby Cobra driving down the road, ever, in their lifetime. Ford GT40 replicas and kit cars are also very popular because the origionals are so hard to come by and super expensive. Below are pictures of “Classic” Kit Cars and Replicas.

Aside from the “Classic” style replicas and kit cars, there are also the more “Modern” versions available. It’s pretty common for people to buy a kit car and then put it together themselves but I would recommend buying one that has already been built. Many times you will even see kit cars and replicas that are 80% complete, up for sale on the market. Again, I would stay away from those and buy a car that is already built and running. The proper term for cars that are built either by an individual or manufacturer is known as a “Turn Key” car. The most popular “Modern” Kit Cars and Replicas are the Lamborghini and Ferrari replicas but, did you know, one of the most AMAZING SUPERCARS in the World, the ULTIMA GTR is a kit car?
Ultima GTR

Yep, the Ultima GTR is a kit that you buy and assemble yourself, just like the Lamborghini and Ferrari kit cars. The Ultima GTR is quite amazing, but I don’t cover this car in my website because it does cost a pretty penny at $80,000+. Most of the good looking “Modern” style replicas can be found around the $30,000 price range. Below are pictures of “Modern” Kit Cars and Replicas. The Porsche Carrera GT and BMW Z8 are knockoffs on actual Porsche and BMW chassis. The BMW Z8 was previously a BMW Z4 that has been modified to look like a Z8. The Porsche Carrera GT was previously a Porsche Boxter, that was also modified and transformed to look like a Carrera GT.
