Because I owned such an incredible car and I had friends that owned such incredible cars, it did not take us long to figure out that these cars were “Money Makers” in themselves! Within weeks after meeting Mike and a few other Exotic Car owners, we were discussing business options and different ways to make money with these cars. I don’t want to go into too much detail because I don’t want any “wise guys” out there stealing our business ideas, but I feel compelled to share since you did just buy my book. Well one way we made money, was taking a video camera along with us on cruises. We got enough footage and reactions from people watching us, we actually made a video. We then would take our videos and set up a display in parking lots, with a tent, booth and our cars to bring in the people. AND DID THEY BRING IN THE PEOPLE!!!! WOW! They came from all over to see what was going on, because they saw all these exotic cars sitting in a parking lot. Well, we sold video after video and made some nice money while having a BLAST doing it! We loved our cars and had fun showing them off talking to people about them. Here’s another little tip… We also had a Polaroid Camera with us. We let people stand next to the car of their choice and we sold photos for $5.00. I remember one day, we made over $100 on photos alone! This was like FREE MONEY to us! Because of my Exotic Car, I was able to get into major car shows for free and set up booths to sell our videos. Here’s another business tip that I perused… You can use your Exotic Car as “mobile advertisement”. What does this mean? Well, you can contact local businesses and make large stickers with their logo and information on them. Typically, local “Sign Shops” can make stickers that are not “stickers”, but have millions of tiny suction cups, so it won’t damage your paint or anything like that. These are usually called “Static Stickers”. By creating a contract with the particular business you are working with, you can make money, by driving around on weekends promoting their business. Yes, people WILL pay you to do this! You can also make money parking your car out in front of business for a given amount of time, to bring in traffic for them. More people centered around any business will have potential customers, so business like that! It just takes a little time for you to take your Exotic Car over to the business and talk to the manager about what you have to offer. People will also pay you to use your car in their photos, for their shops and businesses. Drive up to shops and let them see your Exotic Car. Explain to the manager, that “having your car in their sign or logo would attract more people”. They will see what you are talking about when cars are having wrecks from staring at your Exotic Car instead of paying attention to what they are doing. Yes, sad to say, we have causes a few wrecks from people looking at us, instead of the road. I have had people willing to pay for rides in my Exotic Cars, but I usually just take them for free. I can go on and on about how to make money with an Exotic Car, but if you use your imagination, you can definitely make money with yours, and it’s easy and fun!

Well, moving on with my life, I had new friends, business opportunities and I always seemed to be doing something associated with Exotic Cars. Life was good. About five years passed and I felt like my Lamborghini Countach replica was beginning to show its age. I decided to go ahead and clean it up real well and take care of any little things that may have been bugging me, like a little leather part that needed to be glued back down and touching up a few little rock chips with some touchup paint, typical things you would get from driving a car. I gave it some good thought and I went ahead and put the car up for sale. Don’t worry, I had another car in mind since I had the Exotic car bug… I did a little looking around and came up with a price I felt the car would be worth and placed a few ads up on the internet and in some of the Kit Car message boards. I knew I could have sold the car for more, but I needed to sell quickly so I posted it up for $25,000.00. Remember, I bought the car for $26,000.00 so I wasn’t really trying to get $30k for it or anything like that. I felt like I was being fair. Well within days, I had tons of emails from people wanting to buy my car. I was kind of kicking myself for not asking closer to $30K for it… Nonetheless, a gentleman from Louisiana showed the most interest and reminded me of myself, back when I was trying to buy the car. So guess what I did, I referred him to J.J. Best Banc & co. www.jjbest.com almost immediately and they cut him a check for the car.
While the gentleman from Louisiana was taking care of things from his end, as far as buying my car goes, I was working on another exotic car purchase for myself. While I was in the process of selling my car, I was also browsing www.ebay.com (Ebay is a GREAT source for buying Exotics) and www.autotrader.com, looking for a car I have had my eye on for a while, a 1994 Viper. My goal was to spend $29,000 or under on an Exotic car and it didn’t take me long to find something. Within a few days I was sending out emails and making phone calls on Vipers in my price range, left and right! Soon the decision was made and I had my eye on a 1994 Viper, located in Alabama. The car was being sold for $28,500 and boy did it look good, as you can see in the picture below.
I was in a bit of a tricky situation because I was selling and buying an Exotic car at the same time. Like my last Exotic car purchase, the owner of the Viper told me there was another gentleman really interested in buying the car too and again, I found myself in competition for the car. With this in mind, I had to act fast because I WANTED THIS VIPER!
I supported the gentleman buying my Lamborghini Countach replica the best I could and J.J. Best Banc & co. www.jjbest.com had pretty much took care of everything on his financial end. Within a few days, I got a check in the mail for my Lamborghini Countach replica and I was setting up purchase arrangements, wiring money over for the Viper. Things were going smooth and I set up shipping arrangement for the cars. About two weeks later, I had an Exotic Car transporter outside my house, dropping off my Viper and loading up the Lamborghini replica to deliver it to the new owner in Louisiana. What a bitter sweet day!
Shortly after the car swap was taken care of, I was signing up on Viper message boards like “Viper Club of America” and hang out with the local Viper guys. Being a member of our local group of weekend Exotic car cruisers, I get emails from time to time with introductions from new members and their cool cars. Not too long ago, a guy joined the group because he bought a 1993Viper and wanted to start hanging out with us. You’ll never guess what he paid for his Viper, pictured below. The car cost him $25,000.00… Yep. Most economy cars cost about 25K these days, but if you look, you can find a beautiful Exotic for the same price!
Folks, these are not Police Auctioned cars or anything weird like that. They are cars sold online by individuals and there’s always something cool and Exotic for sale, every time I browse. Typically the condition of cars like these are much better than normal, every day cars you find online. It takes a certain “type” of person to own an exotic car and usually the owners of these cars take care of the cars and keep them well maintained.
