Viper - RT/10 & GTS
This is my RT/10 Viper above before I got my GTS for $30,000. You will mostly find 1993 to 1998 models for under or right at $30K. I bought this one for $28,000, then I lowered it ($100 Eibach Springs off www.ebay.com ), spoiler ($500), new wheels/tires ($2,600) and some red paint on the side skirts (few hundred bucks). 65,000 miles on the clock and ran a 12.1 in the ¼ mile on bald street tires. It should do about 11.5 seconds in the ¼ currently, so we’ll see, next time I take it out with the good tires and spring adjustments. The motor is pretty stock, besides intake cone filters, exhaust with no cats. This car is SMOKING Lamborghinis and Ferraris in the ¼ mile and has a top end of nearly 200MPH on a stock motor! 200+MPH is easy to obtain, with power adders like turbos, supercharger or nitrous. Just doing some motor work will get you into the 200MPH club too if it’s done right. All for about $28,000 + $3,100 in the modifications I mentioned above. This is a $31,000 Exotic car that smokes nearly everything on the streets! Vipers are insanely fast and VERY reliable! My dyno sheet currently reads 406HP and 475TQ.
The GTS had a few upgrades and gained a little more horsepower. With headers, borla exhaust and air filters, my GTS put down 455 Horsepower and 500 Torque on the Dyno and is good for some mid / high 11 second runs in the 1/4 mile. In 1998, “Road & Track” did a review on exotic cars and the Viper GTS came out on top, with a top speed of 193MPH bone stock.
